Mountain Juniper Montessori

A Wildflower Montessori Public Charter School | Primary (Preschool & Kindergarten)

Mountain Juniper Montessori, Aurora’s first micro-school site within Wildflower Montessori Public Schools of Colorado, opened in September 2023 in the Utah Park neighborhood. We serve Preschool and Kindergarten children in a one-room, mixed-age Montessori environment designed intentionally for our learners.

As a free, public charter school, Mountain Juniper brings together families, community, and highly trained Montessori educators to create a personalized education rooted in curiosity, independence, and joy. Our classroom is thoughtfully prepared to foster concentration, intrinsic motivation, and deep engagement with authentic Montessori materials.

At Mountain Juniper, our pillars are Peace Education, connection to nature, and belonging. Grace and courtesy lessons are woven into daily life, empowering children to communicate respectfully, resolve conflict peacefully, and care for their community. We prioritize outdoor learning, seasonal rhythms, and meaningful time in nature to nurture stewardship and wonder.

Community is at the heart of our school. Children share daily meals together in a calm, family-style setting where they practice table setting, independence, conversation skills, and meal-time etiquette. These shared moments strengthen confidence, responsibility, and social development.

Because of the young ages we serve, Mountain Juniper does not provide transportation. We also do not provide lunch; families send meals from home, which we enjoy together as a community.

Mountain Juniper is intentionally small, warm, and relationship-centered, a place where every child is deeply known, celebrated, and guided with care during these foundational early years.

Meadow Rue Montessori

A Wildflower Montessori Public Charter School | Lower Elementary

Meadow Rue Montessori opened in August 2024 and currently serves students in 1st through 3rd grade. The school will expand to include 4th, 5th, and 6th grade beginning in August 2026, growing into a complete Lower and Upper Elementary program.

Like Mountain Juniper, Meadow Rue is a free, public charter school within the Wildflower Montessori Public Schools of Colorado network. Meadow Rue offers a rigorous, child-centered Montessori elementary experience where academic depth, independence, and critical thinking flourish.

Students engage in interdisciplinary, hands-on learning that fosters intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and leadership. The elementary years emphasize big ideas, research, exploration, and real-world application while continuing to nurture strong character and community values.

Meadow Rue does not offer transportation. Unlike Mountain Juniper, Meadow Rue does provide meals for students.

Together, Mountain Juniper Montessori and Meadow Rue Montessori offer Aurora families a thoughtfully designed Montessori pathway rooted in community, personalization, and a deep respect for childhood.
