Meg Gil

Teacher Leader

Megan Gil has been teaching first grade for the past three years in a public school classroom in Grand Junction Colorado. A Florida native, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Central Florida in 2013. Since then, she has taught in Florida, California, and Colorado, experiencing education in both public and private schools. Megan first fell in love with Montessori when she worked as a teacher’s assistant at a Montessori school in Los Angeles. She was captivated by how the children were discovering and cultivating their independence at such a young age while learning essential skills, both socially and academically, through beautiful hands-on materials. Wanting to understand and learn more, Megan sought out training and earned her Montessori teaching certificate for ages 3-6 from the North American Montessori Center. She then developed into a lead teacher and taught Montessori for four years before moving to Grand Junction Colorado with her husband in 2021. Megan is excited to teach Montessori in the Grand Valley and eager to share her passion for it with her community. In her down time, Megan enjoys hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and the beach, when she gets to visit Florida.
